Sweetheart of the Revolution

2014

A riff on the classic Byrds album cover, taking cues from classic Mexican mural art and based around the central image of a female FARC guerrilla fighter. The flowers and the birds are Columbian national symbols. It was painted in a deliberately naive style, I wanted something similar to a traditional votive painting.
